A growing port logistics and marine services company has recently expanded to Amsterdam. They operate cranes, vessels, and rolling equipment and are looking for reliable workshop mechanics. The company offers many internal and external courses and opportunities to grow professionally.
Your role
As a workshop mechanic, you will ensure that cranes, vessels, and rolling equipment remain in excellent technical condition. Your work involves maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and mechanical assembly.
You will work on equipment such as:
- Floating cranes
- Mobile harbor cranes (walkranen)Loaders and shovels
- Marine vessels and support equipment
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty equipment and marine machinery
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
- Assemble and disassemble large mechanical components and installations
- Replace worn parts such as bearings, drives, linkages, and structural components
- Read and follow technical drawings
- Prepare machines and systems for testing and operational use
- Work safely with lifting equipment and workshop tools
- Occasionally assist with on-site technical support in the port area
Requirements
- Experience as a maintenance mechanic, heavy vehicle mechanic, crane mechanic, or machine technician
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and diesel-powered equipment
- Basic understanding of electrical systems
- Ability to read technical/mechanical drawings
- Hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills
- MBO-level technical education
- Driving license (own transport preferred)
- You should be able to swim.
- Dutch or English communication skills
