When you were younger, did you enjoy building things with LEGO? Carefully following the instructions, piece by piece, until something impressive stood in front of you.
Now imagine doing the same, but instead of small plastic blocks, you are assembling life-size, high-tech machines used around the world.
For an innovative engineering company, we are looking for a Assembly Technician / Machine Builder who enjoys accurate mechanical work, complex assemblies, and building machines from the ground up. This is not repetitive assembly line work. Every project is different and every machine is a unique technical challenge.
The company designs and builds advanced machinery used internationally in a variety of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their workshop team.
Your role
As a Machine Builder, you will assemble complex machines and mechanical systems based on technical drawings. Your work requires precision, mechanical insight, and attention to detail.
You will work in a modern, clean workshop alongside engineers, electricians, and other specialists to build machines that combine mechanical engineering, actuators, structures, and precision components.
Your tasks include:
- Assembling and disassembling complex mechanical and mechatronic systems
- Working with precision mechanical components and structures
- Installing drives, actuators, frames, and mechanical assemblies
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical technical drawings
- Carefully aligning and adjusting machine components
- Collaborating closely with engineers, electricians, and technicians
- Supporting machine testing and preparation for installation
- Occasionally assisting with installations at international customer locations
This role requires fine mechanical precision. The quality of your work directly impacts the performance of the machines being built.
What you bring
- Minimum technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field
- Experience in machine building, precision assembly, fine mechanics, or mechatronic systems
- Candidates from heavy machinery environments (working with actuators, mechanical systems, or complex assemblies) are also very welcome
- Ability to read and work independently from technical drawings and schematics
- Strong mechanical insight and a hands-on mentality
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good command of English or Dutch
- Willingness to occasionally travel internationally is a plus
What we offer
- Salary up to €3,500 gross per month, depending on experience
- 25 vacation days + 13 ADV days (full-time)
- Travel reimbursement and holiday allowance
- Strong focus on training and technical development
- Opportunities to grow into roles such as Workshop Supervisor or Work Planner
- Possibility to travel internationally for installations
- A modern workshop environment with unique and innovative projects
- A team of skilled engineers and technicians working on machines that are truly one-of-a-kind
