For an innovative company supplying high-quality packaging systems to production facilities across South Holland, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer who thrives on variety, technology, and customer interaction.

In this role, you will be frequently on the road within the Rotterdam, The Hague, and surrounding regions, working directly at customer sites that rely on fast, precise, and reliable packaging installations.

Your role

As a Field Service Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that complex packaging machines operate smoothly and efficiently. You combine strong technical expertise with independence, working with state-of-the-art equipment.

Your responsibilities include:

• Installing, testing, and commissioning advanced packaging machines
• Performing scheduled maintenance and resolving breakdowns (mechanical and electrical)
• Diagnosing faults and analyzing root causes
• Implementing adjustments, upgrades, and performance improvements
• Providing instructions and technical guidance to operators and on-site technical teams
• Documenting completed work and reporting back to the service team

You will start with standard service and maintenance activities and progressively grow into more complex optimizations and machine modifications.

Your profile

• Completed technical education (e.g. Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field)
• Experience as a Service Engineer, Field Service Technician, or Maintenance Engineer
• Strong interest in industrial machinery; experience with packaging systems is an advantage
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
• Good command of the English language; willingness to learn Dutch (minimum B1 level)
• Valid driver’s license (Category B)
• VCA certification or willingness to obtain it quickly
