Job Description

Work with advanced electronic and measurement technology

Do you enjoy working with electronic devices, measurement equipment, and advanced technology? Are you hands-on, analytical, and motivated to troubleshoot, test, and repair technical equipment?

For an innovative engineering company specializing in marine electronics, we are looking for an Electrical Technician – Marine Electronic Devices to join its technical team.

The company works with a wide range of electronic equipment, measurement instruments, and communication systems used in the maritime industry. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, configuring, and troubleshooting electronic devices to ensure they meet the required quality and performance standards.

Most of your work will take place in a professional workshop, with occasional visits to customer locations for installation, commissioning, and technical support. You will also receive specialized product training to expand your technical knowledge and develop your expertise.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior or medior technician who enjoys practical electronics, fault finding, and working with specialized equipment.

Your role

As an Electrical Technician, you will work with various electronic devices, measurement instruments, and marine electronic systems. You will test equipment, identify faults, perform repairs, and ensure that systems are functioning correctly before delivery or installation.

You will collaborate with experienced technicians and engineers in an environment where technical accuracy, product quality, and continuous learning are important.

What will you do?

  • Assemble, connect, and configure electronic devices and marine electronic equipment.

  • Test and verify electronic equipment using measurement instruments and diagnostic tools.

  • Troubleshoot faults and identify the root causes of technical problems.

  • Perform functional tests, measurements, and quality checks.

  • Repair defective components and replace electronic parts when necessary.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Support the installation and commissioning of electronic equipment at customer locations.

  • Carry out inspections, maintenance, and technical checks on electronic systems.

  • Document test results, repairs, and technical findings.

  • Collaborate with engineers and fellow technicians to resolve technical challenges.

  • Participate in manufacturer training and develop your knowledge of specialized marine technology.

What are we looking for?

You are a practical and detail-oriented technician who enjoys working with electronic equipment and measurement technology. You approach technical problems analytically and are eager to develop your skills further.

You have:

  • An MBO diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical discipline.

  • At least some practical experience with electronics, electrical equipment, testing, measurement, or troubleshooting; motivated junior candidates are also welcome.

  • An affinity with electronic devices, measurement instruments, and technical diagnostics.

  • The ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.

  • A structured approach to fault finding and problem-solving.

  • A hands-on mentality and an eye for detail.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and technical training.

  • A valid Category B driving licence.

  • Good communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage.

Experience with marine electronics or communication equipment is a plus, but not essential. Product-specific training will help you become familiar with the equipment and systems.

What do you get in return?

  • Salary up to €3800 gross per month, depending on experience.

  • A direct employment contract with an innovative engineering company.

  • Specialized technical and manufacturer training, including international courses.

  • 25 vacation days per year.

  • Pension scheme and travel allowance.

  • The opportunity to work with advanced electronic devices and measurement equipment.

  • A modern workshop with professional testing and diagnostic tools.

  • A varied technical position combining assembly, testing, measurements, and troubleshooting.

  • Career development opportunities towards Electronic Specialist, Service Engineer, or Commissioning Engineer.

  • An informal working environment with short communication lines.

  • The opportunity to build specialist knowledge in the marine electronics industry.
