About the role

Are you someone who prefers real hands-on technical work over repetitive tasks? Do you enjoy fixing, maintaining, and keeping machines running smoothly, and don’t mind doing a bit of cleaning along the way? If so, this is the role for you.

 

We are looking for a (Junior) Maintenance Technician for a high-tech logistics environment at Schiphol. This is a diverse opportunity where you will work on the entire logistics automation system, maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and some electrical components.

The work is practical, varied, and rewarding, you’ll ensure that one of the most impressive machine parks in the Netherlands keeps operating 24/7.

 

What will you do?

As a Maintenance technician, you are responsible for keeping the machine park running. Your tasks will include:

• Performing maintenance on moving installations, cranes, and conveyor systems
• Cleaning and maintaining rollers, bearings, and chains
• Inspecting machines and reporting wear or deviations
• Troubleshooting basic mechanical and some electrical issues
• Logging all work in the maintenance system
• Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment

You will work on a combination of mechanical and electrotechnical installations, including moving cranes and automated conveyor systems that operate around the clock.

 

What do we expect from you?

• Technical affinity and hands-on experience (work or hobby)
• Minimum MBO/BBL education or equivalent
• Willingness to work a 5-shift schedule (3-4-3 rotation)
• A proactive attitude, ready to handle both technical and “simple” tasks
• Neat and organized, with attention to safety
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility
• Dutch or willingness to learn Dutch (English is also accepted)

You will join an international machine manufacturer responsible for maintaining a large automated logistics system. The machine park includes moving cranes, conveyor belts, and automated systems, an environment where technology is constantly in motion.
