Are you an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery and solving electrical failures? Do you get energy from working with PLC-controlled machines, industrial automation, and modern production systems?
For an innovative manufacturing company in Nieuwkoop, we are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys finding the root cause of technical problems and keeping production running at maximum performance.
In this role, no two days are the same. You'll work with advanced production equipment, electrical installations, sensors, drives, and automated machinery while contributing to continuous improvements across the factory.
Your role
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical reliability of production machinery and installations. You quickly diagnose electrical faults, perform repairs, and execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Working together with production operators and mechanical technicians, you'll ensure machines operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
What will you do?
- Troubleshoot electrical faults on automated production machines
- Diagnose problems involving PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, and drives
- Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance
- Repair and replace electrical components, control panels, relays, and frequency converters
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Support commissioning of new production equipment
- Identify recurring technical issues and implement long-term solutions
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to increase machine reliability
- Work closely with production to resolve breakdowns as quickly as possible
- Maintain maintenance documentation and technical reports
- Ensure all work complies with electrical safety regulations
What are we looking for?
- MBO or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a similar technical discipline
- Experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Technician, or Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Experience with industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery (Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar is a plus)
- Experience with motors, sensors, drives, relays, and control cabinets
- Able to read electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Analytical mindset with a hands-on approach
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage)
- Motivated to continuously improve machines and production processes
