Job Description

For an international technical organization, we are looking for a practical and technically skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician.

This is a hands-on position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with technology, machinery and mechanical systems.

You will work in a technical workshop environment where you are involved in the assembly, modification, testing and maintenance of mechanical systems and components.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the maritime sector, mechanical engineering, machine building, hydraulics, transmissions or a similar technical environment.

The role offers diversity, after the onboarding you can also do the installation, maintenance and commisioning on clients on location.

What will you be doing?

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will work on a variety of mechanical systems and components.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling and modifying mechanical systems and components.
  • Working with gearboxes, gears, shafts, hydraulic systems and drive systems.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Performing mechanical assembly, fitting and adjustment work.
  • Working with hand tools and workshop equipment.
  • Testing and checking assembled components and systems.
  • Identifying technical issues and finding practical solutions.
  • Supporting the engineering and production teams with technical improvements.
  • Working on custom-built mechanical solutions for industrial and mobile applications.
  • Ensuring that assemblies meet the required quality and technical standards.

This is a role where you are physically and technically involved in the product.

You will not spend your entire day behind a computer.

You will see how components are assembled, how systems work and how mechanical solutions are turned into working products.

You bring:

  • A technical education at MBO level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Maritime Engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience in a mechanical or technical working environment.
  • A practical mindset and the ability to work with your hands.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, maintenance, fitting or installation.
  • Affinity with hydraulics, gears, transmissions and mechanical drive systems.
  • The ability to read technical drawings.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • MINIMUM Dutch at B1/B2 level or higher.
  • A reasonable command of English.
  • A valid driving licence is a plus.

What is important in this role?

We are looking for someone who still enjoys being on the workshop floor and 15% on different locations.

Someone who likes taking a mechanical system apart, understanding how it works, putting it back together and making sure everything functions properly.

You don't have to be an engineer who wants to spend all day designing behind a screen.

You may be someone who has developed technically through years of practical experience and now wants to continue working in a professional international technical environment.

If you like machines, mechanics and working with your hands, this could be a great fit.

What do you get in return?

  • A salary of up to €3,500 gross per month, depending on your experience.
  • A hands-on technical position within an international organization.
  • The opportunity to work with mechanical, hydraulic and transmission systems.
  • A varied role with plenty of technical challenges.
  • A stable and professional working environment.
  • Short communication lines and a practical company culture.
  • Good opportunities to develop your technical skills.
  • A pension scheme.
  • You can use the company van if you have to travel (up to 15%)
  • Travel allowance.
  • Holiday allowance and paid leave according to company conditions.
  • The opportunity to work on products and systems used in demanding industrial and maritime-related applications.

The company

You will join a well-established international technical organization with a strong focus on mechanical engineering, hydraulics, transmissions and drive technology.

This international organization operates with a relatively compact technical team and combines international expertise with a practical, down-to-earth working culture.

The work involves real mechanical systems rather than purely theoretical engineering.

You will work alongside experienced technical professionals and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of mechanical drives, hydraulics, gear technology and complex machinery.

Your next technical challenge?

Are you an experienced mechanical or maritime technician who still wants to be hands-on?

Do you enjoy working in a workshop environment and are you interested in mechanics, hydraulics, gears, transmissions and machinery?

Locatie: Alphen aan den Rijn
