Technical Support Engineer High Tech

About the Role

Looking to build a long-term technical career without getting stuck behind a basic helpdesk screen?

Our client a global manufacturer of high-precision industrial sensors, measurement equipment, and vision systems is hiring a Technical Support Specialist for their European headquarters in Mechelen.

In this role, you’ll serve as the internal product authority for sales teams and industrial clients across Europe. You don't need years of hands-on sensor or optics experience to start: you’ll begin with an intensive 4 to 6-week training program covering the product catalog, software applications, and industrial use cases from the ground up.

 

What You’ll Do

• Handle complex customer inquiries: Guide European clients and internal sales engineers through product selection, installation setups, and production line integration.
• Hands-on troubleshooting: Replicate technical faults in the on-site lab using real hardware and software to diagnose root causes.
• Demo and training delivery: Lead technical walkthroughs, run product demos for high-stakes client meetings, and train incoming sales reps on new hardware releases.
• European travel (~30%): Join local teams across Europe for key customer visits, trade shows, and product launch workshops (typically short 1–3 day trips).

 

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working through technical puzzles and explaining practical solutions to others.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, electronics, applied sciences, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Open to recent graduates (0–2 years of experience).
• Communication: Fluent English (written and spoken). Fluency in another European language is a definite plus.
• Location: Based in or near Mechelen/Brussels, or ready to relocate (full relocation package provided).
• Mindset: Curious, organized, and interested in growing into a senior product specialist or application engineer.

 

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: €56,000 gross per year (permanent contract).
• Bonus: 13th-month salary and performance bonus scheme.
